I am an assistant professor of health and social policy at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine at the University of Lucerne. I am also a Faculty member of the Swiss School of Public Health SSPH+ and an associate member of the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the University of Oxford. I hold a PhD in political science from the University of Bern and previously held academic positions at the University of Oxford and Aarhus University.

My research focuses on the intersection of electoral politics, social policy, and public opinion. I am interested in how advanced democracies respond to societal challenges, such as inequality or technological change, and how these issues become politicized. I recently obtained funding for a four-year SNSF project on "Party politics and the politicization of health care".

I teach courses on health and social policy, health inequality, and Swiss health policy at the University of Lucerne. With my background in political science and social policy, I take an interdisciplinary approach to better understand current policy challenges.
